A busy start

Happy New Year!

The Christmas and New Year shutdown an holiday have been a time to catch up on office developments and relax a bit. The weather at 1000ft in Mid Wales has been bracing, as it has been for all of you to some degree. Time was found for a little scatter gunning for fun with friends, family and Pip the mad spaniel, great rough shooting to be had with pheasants, mallard, woodcock, teal and various contributing to a tasty and hard earned bag. Pip managed some busting retrieves from the river Dyfi with icebergs and freezing melt water to negotiate, three in a row was the limit and we stopped shooting lest she freeze and sink!

WMS Steel Challenge has been a winter wonderland with all days booked achieved in good style. Doubtless we lost a lot of late bookings with people understandably wanting to stay at home, turn the heating up and keep it local.  Hopefully you all got in some good sport, tracked down some dinners and enjoyed the process. Back in the office this week for the first time since December 23rd there is a lot to do with bookings and enquiries building up fast. If you are reading this, thinking about making a weekend booking, pick the phone up soon! Weekdays are easier but if you want free choice, book early.

The hearth (Welsh Chimenia = an old oil drum and a pipe :-) will be going into the porta cabin annex this month to make the spring a little warmer around the table, we got the wood if you bring the matches! Targets are being moved about and the life size American Bison is looking good for Easter if you fancy a 1000 yd challenge. Classic calibres, open sights and black powder are the real kit for this. Can you make the shot? We have sponsors for this and as long as they come through, The Quigley Buffalo lives….in Wales!

The new website is doing  sterling service with the search engine rankings going up daily and enquiries now often coming direct from web searches. Thanks to Ruth for frankly brilliant input on this most complex subject. We are open to web related suggestions so hit contact if you have any?

More to come this month on events, the A100 developments and more. Good shooting and remember, you are only as safe as your NEXT safety check makes you!
