WMS Firearms Training

Andrew Venables shooting
WMS started as Wildlife Management Services

Wildlife Management Services came to life in 1985. Andrew Venables, through a lifetime interest in hunting and shooting, started to get involved in pest control, deer management and assisting zoos and wildlife parks contain exotic animals, keep pests out, kill pests and surplus stock.

This liaison led to WMS initiating appropriate training programmes for zoo and park staff who themselves shouldered the responsibility of managing pests, surplus stock and any dangerous escaped animals. This business continues today with many world renowned institutions sending staff for training with WMS.

In 1995 the police services Firearms and Operations teams also started to use WMS for their Large Mammal Destruction courses, we now have 20 out of the 43 Constabulary areas on our books and recently trained Cumbria Police Firearms Rifle Officers over two days on site.

Constant involvement in the international hunting world keeps the company fresh, current and active in all manner of shooting skills, hunting challenges and liaison. WMS either has the skills and answers, or can access them quickly and reliably from a vast resource of contacts, professional bodies, NGO’s and government organisations. We are constantly learning and practicing what we preach to better support our expanding client base.

WMS remains active in this field and can provide skilled staff to control and manage the full range of UK and international wildlife. If you cant keep it in, it wont stay out or you just have too many of something, call us. We have the solutions.
