Game fairs, scopes, rifles & a chap called Branson
Drought, refreshing rain, the CLA and more…..
After a very warm and dry Spring with lots of bookings, the summer arrived! Wet weather in June and July was much needed for the countryside which was starting to look brown and parched! Having said that, the rain persisted, on and off for much of June and July and August has started with sunshine and showers. Bookings were a bit quiet in June, July is an odd month for us with the start of the school holidays and the CLA making the last two weeks quiet, as last year.
The CLA Game Fair was a blast this year, WMS was a guest on the Openseason Blaser / Mauser stand with Rupert Haynes and the gang. It was the best social event I can remember for a while, with good business, meeting lots of friends the odd Pimms or 6 and decent weather.
See you all at the Midland Game Fair in September, then at Bisley Live, a promising new event at the National Shooting Centre, Bisley Surrey. WMS will have 10 lanes on Century range set up as a Minimi of our Welsh site, with shooting to 200 yards on steel plates with .22 rim fire! Another great challenge!
Having mentioned the weather, we are now building a moveable covered firing point which will allow covered firing from 100 to 750 metres down the main impact area and also plan several other roofed structures to ensure that clients who don’t subscribe to the “If it aint raining it aint training” school of thought have drier options!
WMS is now in a position to offers clients direct comparison and test between some of the top range tactical scopes available from Zeiss, Nightforce & Schmidt and Bender. Choosing is hard and a matter for personal preference and use, as these are really first amongst equals in overall build and quality, yet different?
New rifles available for clients use will include the Unique Alpine Tactical with folding stock, The new Blaser LRS2 tactical with folding stock, the Mauser M03 Extreme with adjustable cheek piece to add to our extensive line up of high quality firearms. Combined with the scopes available, this is a hell of a line up!
If you like Top Gear and WMS, I suggest you all look out for the new Top Gear DVD available in the Autumn. I cant say more here, but HELL, it was fun in the process and looks to be top viewing
I get a sort of holiday August 17th for 5 days so if you are booked 16-22 August John and the team will look after you. I will be in the British Virgin Islands, having been invited out for a drink and a chat with a chap called Branson. Funny old world
