What is the Steel Challenge?

WMS Steel Challenge is shooting the way it should be!

WMS gives rifle shooters a unique facility to learn, practice, prepare and hone their skills.

Our facility enables you to shoot a variety of steel reactive targets from a distance of 50 to 1700 metres with a 400m incline.

Practising at our range can make you a safer, more humane and effective hunter.  

The WMS Steel Challenge has:-

• Life size steel reactive targets set in 5,000 acres of natural surroundings
• Wind, weather and conditions that reflect real hunting conditions
• Instant feedback from the targets enabling you to evaluate and react accordingly

I (Andrew Venables) personally believe that it is not appropriate to use animals as targets. When you want to practice or see how far you can shoot, use targets. When you want to hunt, only shoot at distances where you know you can always “make the shot,” if it goes wrong you will still have plenty in reserve. When you must kill, do it quickly and don’t mess about.
