WMS Steel Challenge - Firearms Range Facilities

There are some covered fireing points / areas for shooting out to 500 meters.
Other activities locally: fishing, Yamaha Off Road EXperience, quad biking, clay shooting, game shooting, rough shooting, bird watching, horse riding and many other holiday activities. Aberystwyth has more pubs, clubs and hotels per capita than most places and the Welsh coast beckons also.
We are based in around Llanidloes, 4 hours drive from London, 2 hours from Chester, Manchester, Birmingham and South Wales. Collection / drop off from Caersws train station available.
Estate rifles are available at no charge, ammunition can be purchased from us at the shooting range on the day. The estate rifle rule requires a minimum age of 17 years for the use of our rifles. Younger people may use rifles owned by their parents under close WMS / parental supervision.
How and where we shoot at the firearms training facility will vary according to weather, requirements and local conditions.
We shoot as we hunt, in all weathers! No such thing as bad weather - merely inappropriate clothing ......
Certificate conditions will be checked and adhered to in all cases. To comply your condition should read something like this ..... "authorised to zero on suitable land over which the holder has permission to shoot" .... Or: ..."firearms may be used on suitable ranges subject to appropriate insurance being in place...."
Permission to bear arms and shoot will be temporary and by the day, accompanied in all cases.

We have toilet facilities, lecture, catering and workshop / bench facilities. Clients can camp, caravan and bivvy on site by arrangement. Contact us for local B&B, hotel lists and recommendations.
